As the capital and largest city in Portugal, Lisbon is a center for design, culture and dining.

 Lisbon

Many are devoted to design and the arts.  When visiting there are many spots to choose from but here are just a few.  First is Santos da Casa this emporium showcases new Portuguese designers alongside design icons.  Also there is Garleria Reverso, owned by Paula Crespo.  Here is where she sells her own rings and brooches made of unusual materials such as aluminum, plastic, cork, rubber and wood.  These may sound unattractive, but in using inexpensive materials like these, you can see the more artistic side of the pieces.

When in Lisbon, try Santos de Lisboa, which fills at lunchtime with an under-40 crowd.  And a popular nightlife is easily found in Lisbon.  Yasmin is a DJ-spun jazz club that sports a contemporary decoration theme.  And you can end the night at the late-night hot spot Estado Liquido that features electronica and house music.
